To build a boutique inside a department store is always a tiring process, but we are very happy with the result, inspired by the architecture of the Galerie Lafayette Haussmann and its glass roof.

WSCS TOKYO

Located by the Meguro River in Nakameguro, the Tokyo outpost of our Words Sounds Colors & Shapes store contrasts a khaki-green exterior, perfectly suited for its muted neighbours, with an interior where Alpine rawness and urban polish mix to create a unique warmness.

A very special store for a very special place, and expression of our love for Alpine chalets and traditional Japanese woodworking.

ZACAFFÉ

For Zara we designed a series of cafés that don’t look or feel like a chain, each location rooted in local culture and architecture, aligned with our idea of aesthetic deglobalization.

We created the Zacaffé brand from A to Z -shop, name, products. All in a very short time, something we excel at.

Since 1999, Ramdane Touhami, the polymath creator behind the renaissance of icons like And.A in Japan, Cire Trudon, and the phenomenon Officine Universelle Buly, has concentrated his obsession with beauty into Art Recherche Industrie, a resolutely multiform creative agency where branding is elevated to the level of total art.
ARI is a contemporary manufactory. A house where, under one roof, live together: image creation, typographic design, film production, artisanal printing, screen printing, spatial design, product development, retail scenography, but also commercial strategy and global positioning. With us, every detail matters and every craft has its place.
Our philosophy is clear: beauty is not an added luxury, it’s a strategic tool. What is beautiful stands out, what is sublime prevails. We shape brands from A to Z, with the precision of a Renaissance workshop: everything is conceived, considered, produced, without intermediaries.
This unique model has seduced houses like Gucci, Zara, and Christofle. When Frame crowned Touhami Designer of the Year in 2018 and the Financial Times featured ARI in How to Spend It, it wasn’t simply a tribute. It was the recognition of a new paradigm of luxury, where beauty becomes essential rather than accessory.

HOTEL DREI BERGE

Located at 1 650 meters above sea level in the village of Mürren, in the Swiss Alps heart, Drei Berge is a family, friends and mountains lovers hideout. Electric, cinematic, original and free from the regular codes of luxury hotels, this unique place reaches the highest standards of architecture and comfort, but still makes you feel at home. We designed the entire place and transformed it into a perfect balance between a typical old chalet and a tribute to iconic designers. The Financial Times put it on the cover of their How To Spend It supplement.

LA PHARMACIE DES ÂMES

We entirely designed La Pharmacie des Âmes in the 7th arrondissement of Paris, a bookstore specialized in social and anti-racist fights. The Pharmacie is now closed but its legacy lives in the Radical Media Archive.

RADICAL MEDIA ARCHIVE

We imagined and made the layout of the first issue of Radical Media Archive, a book retracing the best images and designs of revolutionary and liberation movements. Available here.

OFFICINE UNIVERSELLE BULY

Every sunday, Officine Universelle Buly posts an illustration of a garden on Instagram. To go with their french garden guide collection, we drew these illustrations of unknown gardens to excel in the art of strolling.

ROCKY’S MATCHA

For Drei Berge utopia café, we designed the logotype of the brand Rocky’s Matcha to make stickers they could stick on the cups.

DREI BERGE UTOPIA

For the Drei Berge Utopia café’s walls located rue Feydeau in Paris, we imagined and designed these decorative animals sculptures.The café is now relocated inside our WSCS store.

DREI BERGE UTOPIA

We designed the café Drei Berge Utopia, Drei Berge Swiss hotel’s little sister. Located rue Feydeau in Paris, in a quiet, car-free passageway, its doors closed temporarily in october 2024.

NO PASARAN

The day before the French parliamentary elections on July 7, we produced and directed the No Pasaran clip to put a stop to the extreme right. Several famous French rappers participated in the project.

T MAGAZINE

Each year, T Magazine asks the designer of the year to organize a party for them during the Mobile – the Milanese design week. For their 20th anniversary, they asked our artistic director Ramdane Touhami and his team to do it. We designed the party, hand in hand with Drei Berge hotel (that we also designed). USELESS FIGHTERS

We directed and shot a visual exploration in Son-Dong in Vietnam, the largest cave in the World. Supported by Moncler, these photos were published in our magazine Useless Fighters. Purchase issue one here.

DIE DREI BERGE

We designed this large umbrella for the Drei Berge hotel. With this stylish accessory, you can easily hide yourself from the paparazzis or simply from the rain. A gorgeous piece bringing together pennants for some of the highest mountains in the world. Get yours here.

When we designed Ramdane Touhami’s house in Paris, we created a terra-cotta-clad kitchen, entirely covered in clay tiles handmade in Umbria, Italy. Take a look here.

For the Officine Universelle Buly, we designed this shop located in the new Azabudai Hills district of Tokyo.

A YOUNG HIKER

For the outdoor brand A Young Hiker, we designed this Scent-Bon. Made of cardboard, it is easier to use and more eco-friendly than candles and essential oil diffusers, and will last for weeks. It can also be hanged in your car, and of course on a door handle. Get your here.

SOCIÉTÉ PARISIENNE D’IMPRESSION TYPOGRAPHIQUE

We have our own printing house, the Société Parisienne d’Impression Typographique, the oldest and last engraver in Europe. Embossing, hot stamping, multi-level gilding, debossing… Using machines that have become increasingly rare, we preserve ancestral craftsmanship. This allows our clients to order business cards, correspondence cards, envelopes, or stationery with personalized monogrammed – we have 12 000 of them – or their own design.

USELESS FIGHTERS

We created, designed and shot pictures for the first issue of Useless Fighters, the new magazine that takes you on an adventure to new destinations, inspires your future travels, and will show you the world from a different point of view. Published last June, it’s a celebration of the immense beauty of the people and the landscapes excluded from the Euro-centric vision of the mountains. The first two issues are available in our store.

VOLZHENKA

For the caviar brand Volzhenka, we designed the branding, packaging, some illustrations, fonts, a logotype and a spoon.

MOYNAT

During a year, we rebuilt Moynat’s visual identity, designed some of their shops and created a campaign around the idea of travel. We drew these posters and imagined a logotype.

PARCO

The legendary Tokyo department store PARCO invited Ramdane Touhami to take over their visual identity for their 50th anniversary. We designed a modular logo, infinitely declinable and a complete graphic identity, ranging from an engraved logotype to 3D images. CHRISTOFLE

For Christofle, we imagined this cup and a sneakers box in silver metal. This historical French goldsmith and tableware maison wanted to produce surprising new items by transforming everyday objects, often considered disposable, into precious ones.

A YOUNG HIKER

For A Young Hiker, we draw these mountains rugs. We also created the typography, the illustration and the overall design. Limited quantities available in our store.

SIMI HAZE BEAUTY

We designed the packaging and the graphic identity of the beauty brand SimiHaze Beauty. We also imagined this SimiHaze Beauty corner store in Selfridges, UK, an immersive and off the wall experience.

DIE DREI BERGE

This revolutionary cup was created by us for the Swiss hotel Drei Berge. Cleverly designed, it can be carried anywhere: it fits perfectly into its matching plate. Therefore, all the Parisian waiters who participate in the legendary café race dream of this magic tableware. If you decide to drink your coffee while running (which happens very often), it is possible: your cup will never fall from its little plate. Produced in the Japanese capital of porcelain Arita, its quality is as spectacular as its practicality. Available in our store.

MOYNAT

Writing, layout and artistic direction of “Synesthesia”, the first issue of Corpus magazine, dedicated to the beauty of body and mind. An independent set of documents, interviews, short essays, photographic portfolios, narratives with the ambition to find another tone, other tracks, to awaken the beauty and bring it the same appeal as fashion. Creation of the water-based skin fragrance: it does not dry out or unbalance the skin. Customer assistance on the product formulation, factory development, regulatory aspects and packaging. Over the years, many changes have occurred: scent, bottle, labels, cap, screw thread. HELLO KITTY

On the occasion of Hello Kitty’s 30th anniversary, two ancestral portraits of the Japanese icon Hello Kitty are created and exhibited at the Mori Art Museum in Tokyo. Design Ramdane Touhami for Art Recherche Industrie.

CARRIÈRE FRÈRES INDUSTRIE

Manufactured in Cire Trudon’s factory, Carrière Frères candles are at the crossroads of an ancient know-how of quality, a company history and a contemporary bias. Creation of a new graphic identity and invention of a series of scented candles in vegetable wax, inspired by the end of the 19th century, with a botanical reproduction illustrating its origin and character. ARI – Font design

Tribute and typographic re-creation, based on a trailer made by a letters painter in the 1960s. The “Truffaut” typeface appears on business cards, is featured on the letterheads of correspondence for l’Officine Universelle Buly and adorns the titles of its new website. AND.A “RELOADED”

Art direction, merchandising, management and press for Tokyo-based chain AND.A for which Ramdane Touhami created a new visual identity and redesigned the interior architecture of the thirteen boutiques. Inspired by the image of a black cube, they contain collections of specially created clothing as well as a selection of eclectic objects (electronic products, furniture, books, jewellery…). OFFICINE UNIVERSELLE BULY

Creation of a moisturizing body lotion providing comfort and suppleness to all skin types, called “Lait Virginal”. Light and effective, this perfumed superfine milk is inspired by ancestral beauty recipes. EL TIEMPO DEL POSTINO

At the request of Philippe Parreno and Hans Ulbrich Obrist, creation of costumes for the opera “”Tiempo Del Postino”” in Manchester. Designs and development of the costumes will be done in close collaboration with renowned artists such as Douglas Gordon, Carsten Holler, Pierre Hyugues, Matthew Barney. ARI – Font design

Originally designed by William Caslon in the 18th century, the Caslon Universelle is a more contemporary reinterpretation of this great typographic classic.Design Ramdane Touhami for Art Recherche Industrie.

CIRE TRUDON

In 2006, Ramdane Touhami revamped the Trudon wax factory, founded in 1643. After immersing himself in the company’s history, Ramdane Touhami perfected the product, which became entirely natural. The company’s strategies are re-interpreted according to the modern market. Creation of the bell candle for which he wins the Design Award in 2011. L’AFRICAIN

Artistic director of a restaurant nestled in the Kasbah of Tangier. The three floors of this private mansion have been transformed from the ground floor to the roof terrace: architecture and interior decoration, furniture, azulejos drawings imitating old nautical charts, creation of crockery with African weapons, design of menus and animation of the space … For a whole year, the African became the “place to be” for all travellers passing through the Moroccan port. Design Ramdane Touhami for Art Recherche Industrie.

“With a hint of milk, the face is reborn.” Development of a make-up remover that clears away impurities and pollution thanks to its richness in milk (gentle exfoliant), mirabilis (soothing), cornflower (astringent) and argan oil (nourishing and repairing).
